Venue: Bonalba Golf & Spa, 2.9.2020
Today 25 members entered our Individual Stableford competition which was played as part of the “Bonalba W,H.S. Series”. We welcomed back some of our members who had returned after the summer break, despite the Corona restrictions.
"The player of the day" has to go to Michael Davison, the overall winner with 39 points. His excellent form was also reflected by the two Twos on holes 8 and 14.
There were no nearest the pin as the Captain had decided that last week’s trial of using tape measures, although successful, was taking a little too long and holding up play.
This week our Captain was particularly busy as there was also a prize presentation for the last 4 competitions. We enjoyed a drink, with compliments from Society funds, on the Club terrace, while a lot of bottles of wine were being presented. Many thanks to Graham, our Captain and Eddy Fagg, who is in charge of wine purchases, for all their efforts.
The summary of today’s competition is as follows:
5th place with 36 points off 23 hcp – Chris van Bemmelen
4th place with 36 points off 27 hcp – our Captain Graham Sutton, beating Chris on the back 9
3rd place with 37 points off 24 hcp – Jan Boultbee
2nd place with 37 points off 21 hcp – Tony Dewavrin, beating Jan on the back 9
1st place with 39 points of 11 hcp – Michael Davison
There were 4 twos today:
On hole 8 – Michael Davison and Moe Farouky.
On hole 14 – Michael Davison and Santi Hung
They received the customary golf ball.
